To Make a Difference in Our Community by Providing Financial Support and Service.
(We recently expanded our articles of incorporation to include providing scholarships)!
The Mission Statement is "Helping Those in Need". This is done by financially supporting six Food Pantries, five in Antrim County and one in Kalkaska County. We also provide grants to other groups in need.
The ACHT mission is to provide financial support to ANY AC resident under insured or without health insurance for preventative or post-breast cancer diagnosis care. We remove financial barriers, encourage support group participation, pay for wigs, prosthetics, whatever we can, to reinstate clients self esteem and dignity. But first and foremost, we emphasize preventative care through mammograms.
Our mission is twofold: 1) We provide music scholarships to local young people, using freewill offerings from two concerts a year. 2) The choir members are all volunteer singers who share their love of music with the community.
To support and connect area homeschooling families by providing organized extra-curricular activities, teams, events, gatherings and faith based resources
"... To serve people of all ages by actively providing easily accessible information, materials, services and programs designed to meet the community's evolving educational, recreational, cultural and informational needs."
To collect funds & food for Food pantry
To provide children's activities, music & food. To provide a FREE event for the community. To provide an annual family-focused festival, which provides an opportunity for community-wide involvement designed to celebrate our heritage and creates cross-generational memories.
GTI fiercely advocates, strengthens, and advances the opportunities of people with disabilities through services and employment.
Protect our water resources by using paddle sports to connect people to our waterways. Through stewardship, education, improved water trail access, and promotion of our waterways, we will increase water resource protection and enhance the economic vitality of the region.
Youth leadership development, life skills, character development, community involvement
Help From My Friends' Pet Crisis Center takes in primarily owner relinquished pets due to a crisis in the family. These animals came from loving homes who ran out of options and had to relinquish their pet to animal control. These animals are given all the time they need at the center to find a permanent home.
No. Many women like to just show up and give. While all members have the opportunity to nominate a charity, it is not a requirement of membership. If multiple nominations for the same nonprofit are received only one will be entered.
The organization MUST be:
A 501(c)(3) or certain other tax-exempt organization, including public schools, public libraries and municipalities.
The organization may NOT be:
The organization is not requesting funding for any of the following purposes:
As the nominating member you are responsible to give a 5-minute presentation. (followed by questions &answers session) at the meeting about the nonprofit organization you are nominating. You may bring another member of the organization with you to help present,
If a representative of the nominated organization is a member of 100 Women Who Care,Antrim County Communities or a guest who intends to become a member, they are welcome to assist with questions. Otherwise we look to our members to "represent" the nominated nonprofit.
Because we want to encourage members passionate about an organization to participate in the nomination process, multiple nominations for a single organization are allowed. When this happens, only the first form drawn will be presented; all other forms for that charity are discarded. This ensures that we will always have three different nonprofits represented. The member whose form is the first drawn must be the presenter. They cannot defer that responsibility to another member. Other 100 Women Who Care chapters have found that this discourages “packing the ballot box.”
A selected nonprofit will not be eligible to be nominated again until two years after receiving our first donation.
No. A member must resubmit the Nonprofit Nomination Form and be present at any future meeting in order to nominate that nonprofit.
A nonprofit who doesn’t know a member may submit an entry and they can be paired with an existing member who would present for them.
No. While all members in good standing have the opportunity to nominate a nonprofit, it is not a requirement of membership. Just by listening to the nonprofit nomination presentations, voting and then submitting your donation, you are doing your part as a member of 100 Women Who Care Antrim County.
It is expected that every member will support the selected non-profit organization democratically chosen by the group. A possible exception is if a member has a conscientious objection to the use of her donation for the stated purpose.
As with any donation, we cannot guarantee that the nonprofit will use the funds as intended. However, a requirement of our gift is that a representative from every selected nonprofit return to a subsequent 100 Women Who Care Antrim County meeting to share specifics on how our collective donation will be, or has been, used to benefit residents in our area.
Great!
100 Women Who Care Antrim County Communities relies on our members to nominate nonprofits they know and care about. Share the organizations you care about, perhaps where you have boots on the ground volunteering, or wish to support without having to commit time. Present the importance of this organization to the 100 Women Who Care Antrim County.
Once you join our chapter, you may nominate a charity. You may have one (1) charity attached to your name at a time. You may change your charity on record at any time.
Members desiring to nominate must complete a Nomination Form no later than the ten days prior to the meeting at which they hope to present.
Here are some details that would be beneficial to share at our meeting if your charity is randomly selected.
If assistance is needed to complete the form please contact us via email at 100wwcantrim@gmail.com.
The nomination will be reviewed for eligibility. If it qualifies, the nomination will be included along with others in a random drawing of three charities to be presented to membership at the next meeting.
